About Utāb Studio

A Bridge Between Soul and Science...

Utāb Studio was created through the meeting of seemingly different worlds — science and emotion, structure and intuition, ancient poetic sensitivity and Scandinavian stillness.

Founded by Neda Kianpour-Haukedal, the studio grew from a lifelong fascination with both the precision of observation and the emotional language of light. With a background in biotechnology and visual art, portraiture became a way to explore something that exists between the measurable and the deeply human:
identity, presence, memory, and connection.

At Utāb Studio, photography is approached not simply as image-making, but as an intentional visual experience.

Inspired by cinematic storytelling, fine-art portraiture, and the quiet atmosphere of Nordic minimalism, each session is shaped slowly and thoughtfully — allowing space for authenticity, reflection, softness, strength, and emotional honesty to emerge naturally through light.

The Utāb Studio’s philosophy is deeply connected to the idea that being seen can itself become transformative.

Not through performance.
Not through perfection.
But through presence.

This philosophy became the foundation for the Lûma Portal — a symbolic space where portraiture moves beyond surface-level photography and becomes an experience of self-seeing through light, atmosphere, and emotional awareness.

The work of Utāb Studio is also quietly influenced by the meeting of cultures:
the calm stillness and natural light of the North, alongside the timeless artistic depth, symbolism, and visual poetry rooted in ancient traditions.

Rather than separating these worlds, the studio exists in the space between them.

from the shaping of light and atmosphere, to the emotional rhythm of the session itself. Whether photographing identity portraits, motherhood, intimate connection, or artistic storytelling, the goal remains the same:
